Rosalyn and Noel Samonte – Owners

A Heartfelt Calling to Senior Care
There’s an unexplainable joy in seeing older adults thriving—aging gracefully and surrounded by love. For husband and wife team Noel and Ros, this joy is more than a sentiment—it’s a lifelong calling rooted deeply in their shared values and experiences.

Having grown up in Filipino families, Noel and Ros inherited a strong tradition of intergenerational care. From a young age, both were involved in caring for elderly relatives. These early experiences formed the foundation of their unwavering commitment to the dignity and well-being of seniors.

Noel’s story is steeped in hands-on caregiving. He helped care for his grandfather, who had epilepsy, for over 20 years. The family weathered countless challenges, from managing seizures to late-night searches when his grandfather would wander off. Yet through all the stress, they never wavered in their commitment. Later, Noel’s father suffered a series of strokes and remained bedridden for seven years, lovingly cared for at home by his wife and family. Noel’s mother, who lived to 102, was never without the attentive care of her children.

Ros, though raised away from her grandparents geographically, remained deeply connected to them emotionally and culturally. Her grandparents lived in a rural Philippine setting where community and tradition ensured their comfort. Even while working across Asia, Ros regularly visited them and provided support until their passing. Later, she brought her widowed mother from Toronto to live with her in California, continuing the tradition of family-centered care.

Over the years, Noel and Ros extended their compassion beyond family—supporting friends’ aging parents and even strangers in need. Noel eventually formalized his service by joining the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program in Solano County, solidifying what both he and Ros now see as a true calling.

Today, as empty-nesters with just Ros’s mother and their beloved dog Momo at home, the couple is embracing a new chapter. With Ros nearing retirement after a 40-year career in project management and Noel winding down his insurance business, they found HomeMatters—a perfect blend of purpose and profession.

What drew them in was not just the nurse-guided, tech-aided care model, but also the franchise’s authentic leadership and commitment to senior well-being. It was clear that HomeMatters wasn’t just about business—it was about building meaningful connections and delivering compassionate, quality care.

For Noel and Ros, joining HomeMatters is more than a new venture—it’s the fulfillment of a lifelong mission. They look forward to many busy, purpose-filled years ahead, making a difference in the lives of seniors, one family at a time.

Jennilyn Mallorca - Nurse

Hi I’m Jennilyn Mallorca, a hardworking, compassionate, and team player Registered Nurse that has been in the healthcare industry for 9 years. My job includes monitoring a patient’s treatment such as administering medications, wound care, performing IVs, and acting as an advocate and educator. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Manila, Philippines, and worked for a year in the ED Department in the Philippines. I have been working as an Orthopedic/Medical Surgical/Telemetry Nurse at UCSF St. Mary’s Medical Center for 4 years.

Working in a home care setting like Home Matters, we allow patients to receive care in their own homes, which can provide comfort, reduce anxiety, and foster a sense of independence by delivering care in the comfort of their homes. Our team helps improve their quality of life and facilitate their recovery process better.

As a Registered Nurse at Home Matters, my primary goals align with providing high quality patient care, empowering patients and families by educating them to manage their health effectively at home, promoting self-care, and reducing hospitalizations, as well as contributing to the company’s growth, and fostering our professional development.
